Hermosillo Food Plant

A large-scale structural engineering challenge. We address a facility with recurring critical failures due to poor original design, and transform it into a safe and robust platform capable of supporting much greater loads.

The Original Problem

Originally, the plant operated 50-ton equipment limited exclusively to small trucks and short box trailers. The poor design caused ongoing mechanical fatigue problems and constant pulling out of the foundation anchors, putting continued operation at risk.

The Engineering Solution

The goal was to modernize the platform to be able to unload full trailers with 80-tonne heavy equipment. The monumental challenge was that there was an underground room located directly under the loading pivot area. This required us to develop a special mounting and structural reinforcement design to distribute the enormous loads safely and avoid collapses. In addition, the hydraulic unit was changed for a more modern and efficient one, integrating a state-of-the-art control with PLC and wireless remote control.

Silao Project

Optimization of the vegetable unloading system to ensure compatibility with vehicles of various heights without compromising safety.

The Problem

The client had a dumper for unloading vegetables equipped only with a fixed tire stop. However, the vehicles they received varied drastically in height, forcing operators to use wheel chocks. This represented a great safety risk, since the stop was very low and, at any moment, the vehicle could jump over it, as shown in the image of the failure.

The Engineering Solution

The project consisted of integrating an adjustable box stop along with a special hopper. This structural innovation allows vehicles of any size to be received and the raw material to be unloaded without any problem directly into the receiving belt, completely eliminating the risk of falling.
